PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AND TRANSFORMATION INDICATORS PROJECT was launched in November 2004. A regional workshop took place to ensure a common understanding among facilitators of the principles that define professional standards and transformation in museums as essential to optimal museum service to the people of South Africa. The present booklet represents the result of deliberations of the national working group during meetings held in Port Elizabeth in July 2005.

SAMANTICS is the official quarterly A4 newsletter of SAMA, which gives members a platform to raise and contribute relevant issues concerning museums and museum professionals.

The SAMAB BULLETIN is published once a year, containing conference papers delivered at SAMA's annual conference and AGM. The Bulletin is a wonderfully informative resource for all museum professionals, and for anyone with a keen interest in the museology field.
